The Strokes guitar frontman Nick Valensi is coming to Austin this week to play the Stubb’s Venue. The show was recently moved from Emo’s to Stubb’s Indoors on December 10th. In October the band released its first album “New Skin” after joining forces in 2013. Rolling Stone Magazine included it in their “top 35 Must Hear Albums Fall 2016”.With Josh Homme producing, he can’t go wrong. Valensi described the sound as power pop and heavy metal.Perhaps it’s a bit more hard rock than heavy metal? The new single “Ways to Fake It” has a mostly pop-indie vibe and has a nice upbeat sound.
We can’t wait to see what Valensi does on the guitar with his new band. Consequence of Sound describes his guitar playing as ‘masterful’. As the tour progresses and the band spends more time performing together, the show will continue to get better. This is a must see concert and we’re stoked.More info on the band and the tour can be found here
CRX will be joined by Streets of Laredo and tickets are still available here
