Summer X Games Preview: Minneapolis!

We’re excited for the new X Games venue for 2017- it’s a big move from Austin to Minneapolis but it will be epic! It will surely be cooler temps and better for the athletes. The X Games Minneapolis telecast officially kicks off on ESPN, Thursday, July 13th, U.S. Bank Stadium in Downtown Minneapolis, to compete for X Games gold and prize money.  New this year- VR lovers can watch via Live VR 

X-Games-400x310RETURNING ATHLETES-Athletes are coming again from many countries-France, Brazil, Australia -and many from all over the U.S. from California to Boston.


Not sure who to watch? Start with a couple of the most popular Skate athletes, Brazils’ Leticia Bufoni  and  Ryan Sheckler – Did you know Ryan & Chelsea Castro were in Justin Bieber’s music video for “What Do You Mean”? Also Check out Minnesota’s local athlete Alec Majerus (Rochester, Minnesota, USA). 


Top BMX Riders to watch include veterans Garret Reynolds, Kyle Baldock, Jamie Bestwick- Of course we’ll have our eyes on Texas athlete Morgan Wade.

In addition to sponsor activations, interactive courses, concessions, athlete meet ‘n greets and giveaways, X Fest will also be home to the X Fest Stage, installations by local Twin Cities visual artists, Sour Punch Next X Parks and the FACEIT X Games Rocket League Invitational Esports competition. As an added bonus, X Fest will offer guests free Wi-Fi provided by Comcast Xfinity.

X Games Minneapolis 2017 is streamed through ESPN’s online streaming service (ESPN3, WatchESPN), with portions also streaming on the X Games YouTube Channel. For the latest information on tuning into streams of X Games Minneapolis, check out the latest schedule here.

X Games Minneapolis will host performances from A Day To Remember, Flume and Minneapolis’ own Atmosphere. All three musical performances will take place at the Commons stage, located outside U.S.Bank Stadium. Performances will begin Friday, July 14 at 10:45 p.m., Saturday, July 15 at 10:45 p.m. and Sunday, July 16 at 5:30 p.m. (all times CT) You can find the full music info and line-up on the website.

Events will be located in the Medtronic Plaza at U.S. Bank Stadium and The Commons across the street in downtown Minneapolis.
