FOX Sports hosted a sneak peek of the highly anticipated World Cup™ documentary series, PHENOMS, at the FOX Sports House during SXSW 2018 in Austin, Texas. We love that SXSW has included a sports track now and how this also ties into the SXSW Film Festival.
Phenoms is a documentary series that tracks 60 elite players from 20 countries on their quest to make the 2018 World Cup. The series will debut on FOX and FS1 on May 25, 2018. The timing is perfect as we gear up for the upcoming 2018 World Cup in Russia in June/July. More film and event details are listed below.
We were fortunate to speak with filmmakers David Worthen Brooks and soccer legend Mario Melchiot. We asked questions about following female phenoms, how the U.S. is doing, what inspired the film, and more. These guys were professional, fun and couldn’t be nicer. Watch our interview below.
