This years festival is shaping up to be a fun one. With major headliners Metallica and Paul McCartney (probably the biggest in history), over two weekends fans will get a mix of music genres and a healthy dose of the Austin food scene.

More staff picks:

Patrick’s picks:
-St. Vincent, her solo show’s were stunning and imaginative and she can truly shred! Bonus points that David Byrne is also at ACL this year so they may do a song together, always a special moment at a live show.
-The National, a great band that really engages the crowd and has been building to bigger shows consistently every year.
-Janelle Monae, a stunning performer I first saw at Bonnarroo at a small VIP show that just stunned me with how a captivating she was from the second she stepped on stage, even in a small space environment I could imagine her as a MainStage headliner. Smart, artistic, powerful performer!
-Big Thief, fun band and great to watch.
