St .Vincent, an Austin favorite, returned to Austin on her 2021 tour for new album “Daddy’s Home”. As one of the popular artists at Austin CIty Limits Festival 2021, she also performed at one of the fest Late Shows at ACL Live at the Moody Theater.
The setlist was huge and kicked off with “Digital Witness”, then new stuff from her new album including the album title track “Daddy’s Home”. She wore her perfect Texas cowgirl attire with a sophisticated fashion – sequins & rhinestones on her western blazer, matching shorts & boots.
St. Vincent brought her full band – guitar, bass, keys, drums & 3 very animated back up vocals/dancers. Once in awhile, a female dressed as a waitress from 2 Broke Girls would come on stage and dance around as part of the performance.
The lively ACL crowd sang along to most songs, with a small group of dancing fans in the back of the venue.
Annie Clark (aka St. Vincent) always melds singing, choreography, and guitar playing. The crowd went wild when they saw she grabbed her guitar on the second song of the set.
The lighting was awesome, per usual for this venue, she had a riser that spun at center stage to reveal new set backgrounds & props for the backup singers to play with and kept the crowd entertained. The sound was sharp as always and her vocals were incredible.
Vincent will hit other Dallas and other shows before returning for Weekend 2 ACL Festival 2021.
