Skateboard was epic this year at X Games Minnesota! Things were a little different this year with VERT being outside the stadium but drew huge crowds. Big Air was HUGE and the new stadium is gorgeous and kept athletes cooler and free from weather concerns. Skateboard Park and Skateboard Street were cool with a boat them (Vikings?) and huge dips for big air and tricks.  Popular veterans were there including Ryan Sheckler, Leticia Bufoni, and Bob Burnquist (who retired at the games). Hometown boy Alec Majeres had his best run ever and scored a Silver Medal for the local crowd! See our Skate photo gallery here: Austin 101 Magazine

Mens: In Big Air, Elliot Sloan killed it with Gold, In Park, Tom Scharr didn’t disappoint with some HUGE air but Alex Sorgente crushed it and won the gold medal.  In Street, Kelvin Hoefler had hella tricks for Gold. In Vert, Moto Shibata is again the standout with Gold. Womens: In Park, Brighton Zuener (the youngest medal winner) won Gold in only her 2nd X Games. In Street, Aomi Nishimura won Gold and was impressive again.
