Every March during South by Southwest week, the dusty Western movie set tucked into the Hill Country outside Austin comes alive. For one long day—and a few special nights around it—Willie Nelson opens the gates to his ranch and turns the tiny town of Luck into one of the most beloved gatherings in Americana.
The centerpiece is the Luck Reunion, returning March 19, 2026 with more than 45 artists performing across the chapel, saloon, and dusty street stages of the old Western set built for the film Red Headed Stranger. Intimate by design, Luck trades massive stages for porch sessions, surprise jams, and the kind of collaborations that only happen when everyone’s hanging out in Willie’s backyard.
A Lineup Built for Roots Music Fans

As always, the lineup balances legends, Texas favorites, and genre-bending outsiders.
Headlining the night is Willie Nelson & Family, with the Red Headed Stranger still delivering classics like “On the Road Again,” “Whiskey River,” and “Always on My Mind.” His sunset sets at Luck tend to feel less like concerts and more like communal sing-alongs—fans, artists, and friends all packed into the same dusty street.

One of the festival’s most intriguing names is St. Vincent. The Dallas-born guitar visionary brings art-rock theatrics and razor-sharp riffs to the lineup, best known for songs like “Los Ageless” and “Digital Witness.” Her high-energy set should offer one of the day’s biggest stylistic curveballs.
Minnesota bluegrass firebrands Trampled by Turtles are almost guaranteed to spark a dance party. Their turbo-charged acoustic sound—heard on fan favorites like “Wait So Long” and “Alone”—turns fiddles and mandolins into full-tilt festival anthems.
Then there’s Lukas Nelson, who has become one of the festival’s emotional anchors. Blending country, rock, and soul on songs like “Find Yourself” and “Just Outside of Austin,” the younger Nelson often pops up throughout the day for surprise collaborations.
Soul royalty also makes an appearance in Booker T. Jones, the Hammond-organ legend behind “Green Onions.” His presence brings a dose of Memphis groove to the Luck lineup.
And representing the new generation of Texas troubadours is Joshua Ray Walker, whose raw storytelling and honky-tonk edge on songs like “Canyon” have made him one of the state’s most compelling rising voices.

More Than Just the Festival
Luck Reunion is just the centerpiece of a three-event week on the ranch.
Two nights before the festival, the Luck Potluck Dinner gathers about 300 guests for a communal farm-to-table meal prepared by top chefs, followed by an intimate set from Willie Nelson & Family. The event raises funds for the Luck Family Foundation, supporting sustainable agriculture and food education initiatives.
POTLUCK | The 2026 Luck Presents Potluck is a multi-course dinner and concert fundraising event based on Willie Nelson’s Luck, Texas Ranch. We invite and sell tickets and tables to just under 300 guests who attend a family style dinner and learn about food sourcing practice, and a culinary story in an effort to raise awareness and funds benefitting the Luck Family Foundation in support of Farm Aid, and The Texas Food and Wine Alliance.
NOTE: For the first time ever, the 2026 Potluck will take place on TUESDAY prior to Reunion rather than Wednesday.
FOOD + PEOPLE | Potluck 2026 will be led by Luck Ambassador Chef Michael Fojtasek (Maie Day, Olamaie) and culinary host Chef Brian Light (Ronin) with an incredibly talented team including: Edgar Rico (Nixta Taqueria), Bricia Lopez (Guelaguetza), Ana Liz Pulido (Ana Liz Taqueria), and Emmanuel Chavez (Tatemo). Luck Family Foundation grant recipients Molino Oloyo will be providing light bites and Mercado Sin Nombre coffee and dessert. Hospitality will be headed by Ronin and The Jones Assembly.
The celebration continues the night after the festival with “Todd Snider Rules!”, a tribute concert honoring the late Americana songwriter Todd Snider. More than twenty artists will perform his songs and share stories from the road, celebrating the sharp wit and heart that defined classics like “Beer Run” and “Play a Train Song.”
One of the Most Magical Stops of SXSW Week

What makes Luck Reunion special isn’t just the lineup—it’s the atmosphere. Artists wander between stages, collaborations break out unexpectedly, and fans might find themselves watching a once-in-a-lifetime acoustic set inside a tiny chapel.
By the time Willie takes the stage under the Texas stars, the whole place feels less like a festival and more like one giant jam session.
And that’s exactly how Luck was meant to be.
